A young scholar is appointed to a school in the Peloponnese, which is located in a remote mountainous village. Myrtaeus, the former professor who has past away, has left behind the reputation of being a great writer. The young philologist is called upon to gather and recover his manuscripts, but as he investigates further, he finds that his predecessor had many enemies, the reputation of a womanizer, as well as a wicked daughter.

He only finds three of his texts and discovers that Myrtaeus’ main rival, the Inspector Antonis Theodorakopoulos, has not only destroyed his writing but also bears the responsibility for both silencing Myrtaeus and for his death. It is with such hatred that he will try in any way possible to destroy the replacement of his dead adversary.
